When this arrived I noticed in tiny print that it said they were 100% biodegradable *except as defined by California. Suspecting I had been cheated I looked it up. California defines biodegradable as being able to degrade at the rate of an apple with NO plastic bits left behind. In all other states there is NO definition of what biodegradable is and so manufactures can consider all and any plastic bag biodegradable if they wanted cause plastic will eventually degrade…after about a million years. IF you really want a bag that IS 100% biodegradable then visit poopbags.com These bags are made with corn and will degrade at the rate of an apple.

Great product. I haven’t had a leakage or a bag break when carrying. Still having trouble training dog to steady over it though.

These bags are great, and with two dogs I have to buy a lot of them. I have searched everywhere and this seems to be the best deal on them, especially if you buy enough to get free shipping. The big chain stores charge almost double for this item that eventually gets thrown away anyway!!!

I recently purchased these bags thinking they were convenient as well as good for the environment. I take my dog for a walk 2 times a day and have to use a bag both times, that’s a lot of plastic build up, so when I saw these I was elated. I was a little suspicious when I noticed something about *except as defined by California, but I thought ‘Hey, they couldn’t say it’s biodegradable if it wasn’t!’ so I still got them.

Later on I unfortunately discovered that they aren’t as “green” as I thought. Plastic itself will eventually degrade, given enough time. However these bags are made of normal plastic materials so they degrade just as fast as my standard grocery bag would. I normally wouldn’t mind this but the fact that they put the “100% Biodegradable” just to make me think it was more environmentally friendly really bothers me about this product.

I intend to return what I bought and buy bags that are actually biodegradable, such as Poopbags.com which are made from corn and other renewable products and decompose within 60-90 days in a commercial composting environment.

We have been using Bags on Board for a couple years now. They are convenient for carrying with the specially designed leash-attach case. Since they are biodegradable, we even use them when we scoop out the kitty box. Amazon has the best price I’ve found on these baggies. When I don’t have any other purchases to make, I purchase enough bags to qualify for free “super saver” shipping. We’ll certainly use them!

Did I mention they’re biodegradable?
